The Butler County 911 Center is in the process of implementing a new service that will expand its ability to interact with callers.
The county approved the purchase of the Rapid SOS technology, which the 911 Center has utilized before.
However, this latest version will give dispatchers access to A.I. technology that will help when talking with foreign language callers.
The technology will translate the call in real time to the dispatchers, who can type back a response in English, which is then translated by an A.I. voice to the caller.
Officials say the technology covers 35 different foreign languages.
It also offers the ability to communicate via text in 150 languages.
